This guide helps you set up your new iPad, install required apps, and sign in — no Tech Services help should be needed (but we're here for you if you do!) Setup takes about 10–13 minutes.

🔋 Step 1: Power On Your iPad

Press and hold the Top Button until the Apple logo appears.

✅ No need to connect to Wi-Fi — it's already configured.

    But if it's not... VUSD-Wireless, password= visaliausd

If there is a passcode, it is 7631; you have the option to change this in the settings. 

🔎 Step 2: Find the Company Portal App-- 

💥NOTE: If you have the company portal, your iPad has been set up as a STAFF device ONLY. If it does not have company portal, and instead has apps that students would use- ie, "ABC Mouse," "ABC Writer," "YouTube Kids..." This iPad has been set up for STUDENT use ONLY. Devices are not to be interchanged between staff and student use.

Locate the Company Portal app on your Home Screen.

• Look for this icon: blue briefcase on a white background.

• Tap the app to open it.
  You'll use this app in the next step to sign in and complete the setup.
  

👤 Step 3: Sign In With Your VUSD Account

Inside the Company Portal app, you’ll be prompted to sign in:

• Click on the blue Sign in button
  💡 Your username & password are the same ones you use to log into your staff computer or email.
  

• Sign in: username@vusd.org >> Click Next
  

• Password: Your usual VUSD login password
  

💼 Step 4: Complete Setup in the Company Portal App

Follow the instructions in the Company Portal app:🤞🍀

🗒️ When done, you can search and install other apps in our growing VUSD app catalog.

📥 Step 5: Wait While Apps Install

Keep your iPad powered on while apps install.

✅ Step 6: You’re Ready to Go!

You’re finished when all required apps appear on your Home Screen.
