GoGuardian Setup and Getting Started Info

Here are the steps to get started: 

  1. Navigate to https://teacher.goguardian.com
  2. Click “Log in with Google” (this is important! Do not click on any other option!) 
  3. Log in with your Google vusd.us email account. 
  4. Accept the terms of service (this is a one-time thing). 
  5. The first time you log in, all your classes from PowerSchool will be listed under “Pending”. These classes are the classes that come from PowerSchool/Clever. Go into  “Pending” and hit “accept” for each class. This will add the class to your “Active” classes. Information here
  6. Start your class. You can start multiple classes and they’ll all be available for you to switch back and forth from tiles at the top of your screen. How to start a class here.

NOTE: When you log into GoGuardian for the very first time, you may see a message across the top that says something about reconnecting your Google Classrooms. Go ahead and go through that process. You’ll be asked to log into Google and allow Google Classroom to be connected. Say yes/accept to everything. It’s a one-time thing and going through this process is the only way to make that message disappear. This will NOT automatically import anything from Google Classroom. It will just allow you to do if desired in the future. Most teachers will not use the “Import Google Classroom” feature as all your active classes will already be coming from PowerSchool/Clever automatically. This is a totally optional feature that you do not have to use.
