Web Filter - Blocked Website or Application

This guide will help you workaround or report a blocked website or application on your VUSD issued computer system.


Website or Application Blocked

If you are seeing a message that the website you are trying to access is blocked and you were able to access it previously, please try restarting your computer and try it again.


Here's an example of what our block page looks like. When things are working normally and you visit a site that is supposed to be blocked you will see this message and it will show your username in the last line of the message. If it doesn't show your username that means the software isn't identifying you as the user who is logged in and your web browsing will be restricted.

Still Blocked? - Submit a Service Ticket

If you have restarted your computer, are still observing a blocked site/app issue and believe that you shouldn't be, please submit a service ticket requesting it be unblocked and we will review the request and respond.


Include the following in your ticket submission:

  • Username of the person logged into the computer when the block was observed
  • Website address or name of application being blocked
  • Date and Time you attempted access and were blocked
  • Attach a screenshot or picture of any blocked messages or error messages when accessing the site/app
  • Serial number of your device (Optional)
  • A description of what the site or app will be used for and why it is relevant for instructional purposes
